Away for 4 months

What I would do, dumb down the process; just the essentials.
Exactly, they need to know they shouldn't just add tap water to your ATO container. Do have the ability to make and store all the ATO you'd need? Can your AFS hold enough food for 4 months?

When I left food for sitters I always put a feeding's worth in little ziplock snack bags. Thankfully everything in my tank ate flake or pellet.

Same, i only prepared enough food to get them through the time i would be gone to prevent over feeding. Being gone 4 months is trickier, may need to portion out food for the duration.

Well lads ive decided to keep the tank. Ill just use the advice u lot have gave me which has gave me confidence thank you

I left my tank with a neighbor that knew nothing about aquariums. I brought him over, showed him how to do everything on the list that I prepared in advance for him. I have a mixed reef. I was gone for a month. Returned to find everything as I had left it. The only additional step I took was to buy a camera that I installed to allow me to observe the tank via the internet. He had one issue while I was away. He was able to point the camera at it and we corrected it over the phone!
