I don't use a power head or heater. I use Brightwell NeoMarine salt. A batch lasts about 4 weeks and I've never had a problem.

I only use a power head x 3 when mixing it, and also a heater in winter months to keep the room warm as well.

Once its mixed it’s left stagnant without any issues for around 3-4 weeks. I use the Red Sea standard salt

Mine are in the garage and I don't use heaters or or powerhead in the tanks. The only exception is a power head in the mixing tank.

I have a 20 gallon aquarium that I use as a saltwater reservoir and only use a powerhead when I mix a new batch of water. I ran Red Sea Coral Pro for a long time before switching to Tropic Marin. Red Sea would leave a residue that, while most likely harmless, caused a slight OCD eye twitch when I would look at it! I just cleaned the tank and this is my first batch of Tropic Marin, so time will tell.

I don't heat the water. It's in my laundry room and stays house ambient temp in the low 70's. With small every-other-day water changes, it doesn't appreciably affect the temperature of my 160+ gallon system.
