- I'm running an InTank Media Basket with filter floss, 1 Chemi-Pure Blue nano packet, and two 2" cubes of MarinePure.
- In the second chamber I'm running 2 MarinePure cubes. I also have a Tunze 9001.
- The third chamber has my ATO, Heater, and Return Pump. It also has the Neptune PH and Temp probes.
- Dosing ESV Alkalinity and Calcium with the Neptune DOS.
- The rock is Marco Reef Saver and Small Foundation.
- The stand is a JBJ Nano 10-Gallon White Cubey Stand.
- I'm using a 5-gallon Trigger Systems ATO reservoir.
- My test kits are as follows: Hanna Salinity Tester, Hanna Alk Checker, Hanna Phosphate Checker, Red Sea Marine Care, Red Sea Calcium Pro, Red Sea Magnesium Pro.
- The display was restarted with new rock and sand on April 25, the scape became a floating reef.

This is a display tank restart!! I wanted to revamp my tank after 8 months, and I wanted to do everything better than before.
I'm planning on this floating reef to have high-end corals.
There will be a small refugium in the display with dragon's breath macro algae!
This will help keep nutrients in check, and I will be able to add plenty more livestock.
The refugium idea is inspired by a local Bay Area reefer, @downtoreef on Instagram!

I'm planning on having a Pink-Streaked Wrasse, a Tailspot Blenny, and a DaVinci Clownfish pair!

Yeah I took a 18” by 6” sheet of acrylic that’s 1/4 inch thick and used a heat gun to bend it into a sort of U shape

This tank has been running for 8 months, and the marine pure cubes are 8-months old, which means there will be a mini-cycle, but from there I can add fish and coral really soon, since ammonia and nitrite should reach zero fairly quickly.

I'm still supplementing Bio-Spira.
This will be like starting a new tank, but with the MASSIVE advantage of VERY mature bio media.

I actually took a 6x18 inch sheet of acrylic and bent it into a sort of U-shape.
This way I'm able to remove the rock if I have to!

I completely agree. I find that less is more with rockscapes.
I have a couple rocks in the sandbed. The one on the left is dedicated for an anemone, the one on the right will be for bounce shrooms!

How do you plan to keep the sand clean?

I recently got a couple scarlet hermit crabs. I want to get a couple turbo snails, and I'll siphon the sand during every water change.

I really like this idea the tank looks great so far. Have you thought bout some Tonga Nassarius Snails. They are all white and really pretty, plus they keep the sand bed stirred up

I've had them before! They're pretty cool.
The extent to which they do stir up the sandbed I think didn't do much for me if I siphoned the sand anyway. They didn't do much for my algae, which is why I wanna go for a Turbo snail + tailspot blenny combo!

I made up a DIY gravel vac - was pretty easy to put together and works like a charm. You can see it in my build thread here -> https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/j...jebao-slw-10-added.679219/page-4#post-7408001

I also stir it around every other day or so and my sand stays pretty darn clean that way. Not all that tough to keep it nice and bright!
