Hello guys.
I didn't find exactly the time needed to treat cyano with azithromycin.
After dosing 1mg per liter of water, how many days should I wait before skimming the meds off and returning the carbon?
I know that 2 days is recommended for using Chemiclean, but I don't know if that's enough for azithromycin.
I'm afraid that if 2 days it's too early, the cyano don't die completely.
And if 3 days is too much that would harm more the tank microbiota.
How many days do you sugest?

The tank is new, just over 2 months.
Little pacthes appeared about 3 weeks ago, and I siphoned every other day.
Last week I tested nitrates and phosphates with Hanna, and both were 0.00, so I decided to feed more the fish and start feeding corals (which I wasn't).
Two days after feeding the corals, cyano exploded all over the substrate and start a little on the rocks. I siphoned and in just one day, covered the substrate again.

Yeah, idk.. since it's so new I would just power through it. Cyano is just one of the ugly stages when it's that early on. Once your nitrates level off, and it's stable it should go away on its own. But, I'm more of a hobbyist that likes to let nature take its course rather than put chemicals or meds into my system, so others might have differing opinions.

Tank looks really nice tho, it's a good start.

Thanks!
I also prefer the natural way, but after evaluating the situation I doubt it will be gone soon.
I hate antibiotics too. The microbiome is badly affected.
Who knows the results. Maybe dinos appears after cyano and I will regret so much of using it :grinning-face-with-sweat:

For me, the early cyano tuned into green patches, then just melted away over time. I would be sooo hesitant to use antibiotics on a new system.
