I've been lurking here for MONTHS! I've been out of the hobby completely for about 15 years, and in the past I've only done fish only, freshwater and saltwater. I always wanted a reef tank, and a few months ago, the wife gave me the thumbs up! In the works, I have planned an appox 170g tank, for which I am in talks with Planet Aquariums and me LFS to build out a parts list. In the meantime, I realized I REALLY needed to put all of my R2R and YouTube knowledge into application. And, I knew I'd need a quarantine/frag tank anyways, so I searched for a used AIO tank. Fast forward to last week. I found a great AquaTop 24g tank and stand from a local reefer and bought it. He threw in a few pieces of MarcoRock. Stopped by the LFS for some live sand and bacteria starter, and went straight home to start putting it together. The wife helped me rockscape, added sand, brewed up some RODI water, added a shrimp and some MicroBacter StartXLM, and fired it up! That was last night. The tank has already cleared up nicely this morning....
