B-ionc esv salt mix.... Who's using it???

+1 on hearin great things although I have also seen em I know around 10 reefers using it and absolutley swear by it what I found intresting about esv was that the levels were higher than TMP which is what I use I'm almost done with my bucket of TMP and will be buying ESV on my next trip to the lfs

I started my tank with reef crystals instead of coralife haha... It was the only thing the lfs and I was in a rush... Marine depot had 1000mg of rawaphos on sale for the deal of the day so I splurged and grabbed the salt lol..

Im using it and I love it!! It mixes clean and my corals seem to love it too, aftet the first couple batches I find it easier to mix then any other ive tried. Ive usef seachem which my corals hated, io which was ok but calc was low, h202 would precip if I added to much at once, tmp was just ok.

I just ordered 200g myself Lee; I'll be using it on my new tank

I use it on one of my maintenance tanks and as soon as I'm done with my 300g box of Brightwells I'm making the switch too, my clients colors and growth are passing me up! Leaps and bounds and I thought I had great everything but the esv takes it to the next level I've been using it on my clients tank for 3 months now and I like it because I have the option to nail the params right where I want them every time!

Surprised not more people are using it.... I guess it could be a real pita since it is a 4 part salt mix but hey hey you get what you pay for..:)

I hope so! Jake from reef builders had nothing but positive things to say about it. Plus when you compare prices it's like $0.35/gal compared to $0.31/gal for the good red sea stuff. PA was cheaper than MD by a good $20 though

I use it. Mag Cal levels are high enough so that i dont have to add 2 part as much. My cal 450 Mag 1450 stay very steady using 2 part also. I bought a dig scale and measuring is a breez. Ready to use in 10 min or less if you need water fast.

I just started using it...... I'm in the process of switching from a 150 to a 300 gallon DD marineland tank. Was curious how accurate the salt would be so I got a little crazy and weighed my ro as I made it in a five gallon bucket. I made up 30 gallons of water in one brute can and 40 in the other and to the pound for accuracy. The salt is pretty easy to mix, you just have to keep your attention on making salt and make sure you don't lose track of how many cups you have added. It comes with a paper that tells you exactly how much of each part to add. You add salt and let it dissolve completely. Then you add the magnesium and let it dissolve completely. Then you add the liquid labeled A, let it mix for a minute and then you add B. It dissolves really quick and with in five to ten minutes it looks like you have nothing but water in the brute can. It also comes with four scoops that have a measuring spoon as a handle. The sizes are 1/4 tsp with a 1/4 cup, 1/2 tsp with a 1/3 cup, one tsp with a 1/2 cup and one tbsp with a cup and it also comes with a measuring cup that starts at 10 ml and goes to 250 ml and 2, 4, 6 and 8 ounces.

I have made 3 batches of 30 gallons and 1 batch of 40 gallons and every time when I check the salinity it is dead on 1.025 at 78 degrees. Another thing a like about the ESV salt is that I added the water to my tank about 30 minutes after I mixed it. Another thing I tried is to let the 40 gallon batch mix over night to see if there was any residue on the can and it was clean as when I started.

ESV is my new salt........

I'm on my 2nd box of the stuff. I love how easy it mixes. I have found that it's easier/faster to measure the ingredients out by weight than to count out by cups and fluid ounces.

I have been using this salt for over a year now. My corals have never looked this good. Ive tryed a lot of different mixes but this ESV seems to be giving me the best results. When I mix new salt/ro I have a 100g rubbermade holding unit with a blue line pump that resercultates the water with a heater. I just add all 4 componits all at once wait 2 hours and Im ready for a water change. Most of the time I pre mix my saltwater and is reserculting for a week prior to a water change.

I like to have a stock surplus:

What kind of alk, ca, and mg levels are you guys seeing with a fresh batch? I have been thinking of making the switch from TMP.
