Is it possible for a baby aiptasia to come from no where?

I'll try and get a pic tonight.

I havent added any new frags since beginning of September. Those frags were closely inspected and dipped. I've never had aiptasia before in any of my systems so no cross contamination was possible. There are two or three about the size of an eraser on a pencil or smaller even. Just not sure where it could have come from. Could my Duncan have spawned and there just tiny? Or cold it be my clove polyps spawned. They are about 1 foot from my clove polyps.

Lastly the rock is easily removed but has about a dozen frags on it. Suggestions for treatment?

They can hide in nooks and crannies and survive dips, ruthless ba****ds!
If there's only a couple, I advise h2o2 if no corals are in the area...
Take the frag/rock out and shoot h2o2 onto them with a syringe. After you're done, usually a couple of minutes, rinse and then maybe superglue the area they were in.

If you have a bunch, berghia

Here is the crazy part about one month ago I pulled all the rock and poured h202 all over it then scrubbed it like crazy. I used 2 and a half bottles on all my rock work. Roughly 50-75 lbs of rock

I didn't even have coral in the tank and the rock was dead a year+. I remember looking at it and thinking "for REAL!!!".

Ever read anything that they can survive on dead rock. Spores or something?

So I can make out 2 for sure maybe a third all clustered together my plan is to pull the rock squirt the area with h202 as suggested leave for 3-5 minutes then rinse with rodi and supper glue the holes they are coming out of shut. This was all suggested in the first response anyone disagree with this method? I want to do it tonight.

id use kalk or app x or vinegar on the appies. then the rest.

Ok I'll do it tomorrow with white vinegar then h202 then rodi rinse lastly super glue. Out of white vinegar.

I'm I little more frustrated now. I just happened to look under my frag rack and I have like 6 or 7 the size of a quarter growing off the frag plugs I got from a well known merchant on this site.

Should I be angry that I wasn't informed about this. I guess I just find it wrong to not say I've been dealing with aiptasia in some of my tanks. Let the buyer know you've cleaned the plugs but as a safety precaution recommend removing the plugs.

Again nothing has been added since I purchased these in september.

Those jerks. Get some Peppermint shrimp. They love aptaisia. They are also fun to watch ;)
