Got some zoas recently and noticed a couple of tiny semi translucent palm tree looking things on the base of the plug.

As soon as I turned the plug around to the glass to take a photo they all shrunk away, they look worryingly like anemones with a stem and disc at the top and multiple strands Comming off the disc

When I first moved the plug:

I’ll try to get a better photo if they come out again but they all seem to have shrunk down seemingly into nothing. The zoas on this plug seem to be half shut most of the time, maybe this could be related.

If it is Aiptasia what should I do? they seem to be isolated to just that plug, but all over it. I wouldn’t be too opposed to removing the whole plug

Look like clove polyps.

Ah sweet, that’s way better than Aiptasia.

Do they do anything bad? I mean they don’t look that nice but I don’t really mind them being in the tank.

No, not bad but they may overgrow your zoas which could become a problem. Could remove and place elsewhere.
