I went to the LFS last week and they had the cutest baby crocea in their tank (about an inch and a half). I went back a few days later to buy it, and the clam was gone and replaced with a bigger one :( So I'm wondering where I can get baby clams? I'd really like a maxima or squamosa since I don't have those types yet, but any baby clam would be great.
Does anyone know where I can order one or a few?

not sure where you can get them but i do know that they are much harder to care for than larger clams so be weary

not necessarily nate. always remember, the larger the clam... the harder it will be to keep calcium, alk etc in check.

I got a baby max about 20 months ago as a bday present from a buddy. It is still with me today but the other 2 that were bought with mine that day perished. I have always heard baby clams are hard to keep but mine is a trooper i guess. They were found at a local fish store and if i remember right, at that time i was seeing alot of tiny clams in the stores around my area. Lately i have been seeing mainly larger clams. Im sure you can come acrossed some still but maybe they were just more abundant at that time, i dont know. If i had not recieved mine as a gift i would prolly sell it to ya, i still look at it every day to make sure its doing good because of the small clam fears that have been instilled in me. He is still very small but my husbandry has never been the best IMO, maybe conditions werent good enough for him to thrive and grow like he should be. My croceas seem to grow faster, and acros grow faster than clams IME wich is not real quick. I guess like a coral possibly, a clams growth is expotential?
