Baby corals find their way home in their first days as free-swimming larvae by listening to the noise of animals on the reef and actively swimming towards it, an international team of researchers working in the Caribbean has discovered. These findings raise new concerns for the future of coral reefs as increasing human noise pollution in the world's oceans is masking reef sounds.

Wow, coral reefs are considered on death row?! It makes this hobby more & more like a true preservation than just an expensive hobby.

there are very few big releases in science I believe simply because new understandings will erase this next decade. the books still say it's chemosensitivity of some molecule released by coralline algae (Borneman, corals) and whether or not any of them are right is a constantly ongoing test, just like age of the earth arguments jmo but it is all very possible, and very entertaining, and maybe its all a shared or blended response...life actually is much better than fiction could ever be.
