This came with some new corals. Is this a baby feather?

This happened to me when I put a coral in the tank. It actually had about twenty. There are probably more in there already.

Thanks guys. Just thought I would double check. Still very new to this

Watch out they grow fast and get everywhere.

Don’t they usually die off and get to a stable level? I have a ton in my newer tank but also had a ton in my older one but don’t see them.
Even if they don’t die off, they don’t hurt anything

With featherdusters, it depends upon the type. The bigger types don't tend to persist well in our tanks, and eventually starve to death (much like barnacles, clams, etc). Tiny ones like spirorbids grow abolutely everywhere in mature tanks (including on the glass). Some of the "cluster duster" types also do well in our tanks, since they reproduce asexually (splitting in half more or less, with each new tail forming a new head).

I miss mine. Not sure how the two died. Definitely wasn't because I accidentally knocked over my rockwork and crushed them. You have no proof, therefore I am innocent!!!
