I have a hammer that died on me while I was out of town for a day or two. I left the skeleton in the tank, and I appear to have two "babies" that have sprouted from the stalk. How do I go forward with these? Do I just let them go? Do I cut them off and glue to a plug? If so, where do I cut, the fleshy looking part, it the harder looking area below that?

let them grow.

It takes awhile, but they will grow. I've snipped them off when they had some hard dead stalk, but best to leave them if they have good lighting.
