Ok so this might really be a topic that is severely overlooked. My daughter is 9 months old and man is she on the move. I have 3 tanks in my house, and in all areas of the house. anyway I'm wondering if anyone has taken precautions to "baby proofing" their tanks. If so what? I'd love to hear your suggestions and share mine

What issues are you wanting to address? I have an almost 1 yr old as well as a just turned 4 yr old so I have been down this road a little. The saltwater tank is high enough that she cant really effect it. There has been posts on here about securing a stand to the wall using webbing or anchor straps, I did not to that to my tanks but it isnt a bad idea. I have the refirgerator/oven locks or clips on the canopy to lock the lid down so they can't be open by lil hands. My 4yr old has figured out how to open it, but so long as we keep the food out of reach the fresh fish dont bother him.

I put up a baby gate to my fish room. I found my daughter putting her bottle brush in my sump and figured that was enough :). I also found the toothpaste and some other things. We have since moved out and are in a different house where I have a small tank in my closet. Once I get the big tank up it will be in the living room and I will have to figure something out.

For her she never went to the back of the tank where the wires were. I overbuilt the stand and it's hard to push over a 120 on a stand that had a 1' larger footprint on each side.

I have a 16g tank with the petco stand in her room. She pulled up on it once and it moved a little. I had a new stand that was much shorter and way beefier in its place ASAP. I have heard of securing a tank to the wall but couldn't think of a way that I would be happy with.

For the wires, try some of the clamps that screw into wood. I can't think of the name of it but my Dish guy used them when he ran some cable in the houe. It is a clamp that goes around the wire and then screw into the wood. You can run them where you want and keep them tight.

All I had to do was put child proof latches on my stand doors and make shelves at adult height to place everything on.

Yeah I have a 28 jbj cube on the jbj stand just worried for when she gets a little older. Thanks for the suggestions

For the wires I have just the cheap plastic conduit cover that you can get at your local big box retailer or the walmart automotive section.

As for the push over...I am not sure if they make commercial ones, but typcally what you see when you purchase like a dresser or something s a piece of like nylon webbing and some wood screws. One end goes on the dresser the other goes into the wall via a stud or anchor
