Hi Everyone I need help identifying this baby snail in my nano tank. I only have nerite snails, one margarita snail and I had an astrea snail that passed a few weeks ago. I first thought it was a nerite since they are always laying eggs but not so sure. I have no live rock no new corals only a new clownfish but i dripped acclimated her. Thoughts? Thanks!

Looks like trochus snail

Could be, but the angle of the opening doesn't look right for trochus. Need a clear pic to see if the opening is truly on the bottom or side.

Here are some more pictures the bottom is the mouth and I also found 2 smaller snails just like this one.

The opening is actually on the side, like nassarius, cerith, whelk, etc......
Trochus, astraea, turbos all have openings on the bottom, meaning they wouldn't fall over if placed on their openings.

Trochus shell would point up and not tip over, whereas ceriths and others like it would not stand up and appear to lie on its side. Trochus shells (especially babies) would have a flatter, but still pointed pyramid shape to it and the others mentioned would have a conical shape.

I say pick it up and take a picture of it. Since the new pictures are posted. minus 9 is probably most accurate on cerith snail.

They're tough little buggers, don't worry the shells are pretty hard, unless you step on it. When I clean my pumps, my nano conchs fall on the ground and I pick them up and drop them in the tank and they're unphased by the ordeal.
