So I checked out the tank this morning Around 2 AM with the red light. And noticed a bunch of tiny white balls on the glass. I got closer and realized that they were moving and looked like tiny snails.

Is this why I'm seeing!? Or something else? They were so tiny, this is the best shot of them I could get.

If they are very small they could be colonista (spelling?) snails.

Looks like a snail to me congrats

Looked up colonista snails, seems like that's what they are. I only see them at night, and saw much more last night than I did a few nights ago. I really would love to have them in the tank as they're beneficial, just as long as they don't get tooooo out of control.

As above wrasse love them, they come in waves in my tank, I just leave them to it.

mine got way out of control. A melanurus took care of them.

It's only a 29g tank and I really don't want to put another fish in there as it's pretty much stocked as much as I want... I don't like to actively kill anything in my tank. Any chance they'll stay in check and stay beneficial?

all I can say is keep an eye on them. You'll know when it's a problem. I can say that they killed my clam.

I thought I’d revive this thread and add that I also lost clams after these guys showed up @Smotz. Not positive that they did it but seems odd that the 2 previously growing maximas went downhill pretty quickly after they showed up. And no there were no pyramid snails on the clams. Anyone else have issues with maximas and colonistas?

Any pic of the snail?
