I purchased a baby Picasso trigger fish. I should have done more homework like I have done in every aspect in the hobby!
The sign on the tank said 70g min & reef safe!
So now I read 100g minimum...AND Aggressive!
(HOLD all negative comments please, I will definitely find him a bigger better home if gets to big!)
Also reef safe with caution! And I read he may eat CUC! OH GEEZE!!
So only 1 incident. He ate my peppermint shrimp and I was bummed. Loved that guy.:(
I have a fire shrimp that has grown pretty big but he doesn't bother him..Yet.

So doing HW now & I read good and bad things about them and I was wondering if anyone has experience with the Picasso trigger..
Mine gets along great with everyone so far..He is actually having a strange bonding thing with my clown! They look like they are in love!
Also,
My clown, mandarin, hawk and trigger all hang out in a small cave at night in their new home!
I don't get it! Its 68G! Guess its familiar to them so they stick together?
My fire shrimp is actually fairly close as well and Picasso doesn't bother him at all!
I was hoping with the much larger tank they would have room to find there own space.
Anyone have similar or other experience's with trigger fish?

I'll be bold enough to come out and say it, It's not reef safe! And potentially not fish safe with smaller fish. They get more aggressive the larger they grow, potentially eating smaller fish. It's a fish only tank with similar aggressive kinds of species. And say good by to your cuc.

Don't know who told you 70 or 100 gallons, but I'm thinking even bigger.....maybe 150 to 180 or larger. Google Picasso (aka Huma Huma) and look at the info on this fish.

The fire shrimp will be next , you can bet your money on that . shrimp are like candy to triggers .

Geeze!! I think Ill start looking for a new home now! I hate all the different opinions!

Anyone have ideas on how to trap/catch him? I think I'm going to bring him back now! I don't want him to kill/eat anything else.. I'm good about doing my HW on thing's first, not this!

A very small trigger will leave some stuff alone for a while. They are not reef save with inverts. As for trapping you can try and lure them out with food and get them in a specimen container or if you have room in the tank get a clear piece of plexiglass and isolate them so they can be netted out. Also check the LFS to see if they have a fish trap for rent.

Oh boy! I wish I did my HW on this one! I'm going to try to get him out tonight. They said the salesman should never have sold me the trigger knowing I had a reef tank so they will take him back AND give me credit! But Id take him for free if I can get him out.. Ill look on youtube I remember seeing some kind of trap
