Took a break about 15 years ago to try raising some 2 legged pets children decided it was time to give it another shot. For now starting small with a IM 25 Lagoon, with the formerly Xenia infested 90G idle in the basement.

Welcome to R2R and your new reefing family. Those two legged pets children should now be at the age they can help you out!!!
Welcome back to reefing and the world's greatest venue for obsessing over the hobby without guilt! (Tip: explain your increased online research work (to your spouse) as investment portfolio construction & risk analysis research using semi-variate optimization technique, moving away from MPT due to your believe that another Nassim Taleb Black Swan event is overdue, and MPT uses data that fails to properly incorporate this risk. It is analogous in some ways, and you will never be questioned about it again.
So what have you missed you might wonder. Well, lets see... Hey, you are not going to believe this but you will have to trust me:
People still use metal halide and T5 lighting. REALLY; I am serious. Impossible but true. Everything else you learned about reefing before though has been superseded. Multiple times.
Oh wait, there is a "new" movement afoot to start new tanks with old, live rock. Crazy, right? Can't make this stuff up.
What else?... Oh, we can measure nutrients down to parts per billion now so that we can know how effectively we are stripping our tanks of all available nutrient. Now we know -- with considerable precision -- how low nutrient we can go for all of our $200 one inch frags turn white. Rad.
Lastly (for today's installment), we have computers attached to our aquariums. The beauty of this is we never even have to look at our aquariums anymore. True! All you need to know is now on your phone. Just like everything else.
ps. This exercise was part welcome, and part just having a good laugh at myself as I am guilty on each charge above. And yet somehow I still feel welcome here!
