Hello and welcome back to the hobby. Yes, the trend to running higher nitrates and the increased usage of bacteria and phytoplankton and higher PH. My PH is 8.65-8.75. I don't chase PH unless it's low which is usually due to alk getting low. But I auto dose so everything has been consistent for years. I let the tank do it's thing. I see more growth with the higher PH.

Hey everyone. Been away and got back with a tank set up earlier this year. Seems like a lot of great coral floating around. Really excited to continue to collect the classics and new releases.

Interesting to see the trend to running higher nitrates and the increased usage of bacteria and phyto. As well I am embracing the power of higher pH.

I will get an updated build thread out but wanted to say hi from Phoenix Arizona!

Welcome and Welcome Back! Glad you joined.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you in Phoenix:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
