What's up Reefers? We had some bad storms roll through here in Michigan last week. My power was out for 2 ½ days. Luckily I have a portable generator. I went out (foolishly) at 230 am last thursday in a lightning storm, while getting drenched, to hook up the generator. I thought I was good and went to sleep after it was running. Unluckily, the gfci popped on the generator outlet and my basement flooded a little from the sump overflowing.
No equipment was ruined due to all my outlets, plugs, and electronics being hung on wall panels. There was no loss of life either. All I can say is
1. Don't go out in a lightning storm
(I think I saw the All Mighty)
2. Keep your electrical devices and cords up off the floor.
3. Have a backup plan for WHEN the power goes out.
Now I just have some flooring to replace in The Reef Cave that I wasn't too fond of anyway. I'm also getting back to my normal reefing routine.
Happy Reefing!
