Back at it! Peroxide vrs cyanobacteria

Should i consider other alternatives to it demise? Considering the short time ive been dosing? Or do you believe its possible to be taking effect this quick?
It is highly possible if the tank is carbon limited :)
I would do the full 14 days to make sure there is no cell survival

It is possible for it to be effecting the cyano in a 3 day span. The 125 that i provided for this had a large amount of cyano and within the first few days i could see noticeable reduction in the mats of cyano. Some of the mats were so thick you could visually see the mats breaking down and becoming mesh like in appearance.
 
So the 2nd pis is 5 days in and the other two are today. I guess it put is in the order it wanted too.
 
Just wanted to show you all the difference between cyanobacteria and dinoflagellates

Here is a shot of dinoflagellates from a member I received today thinking that cyanobacteria was the problem.

Day 2 no change yet as expected. My bubble coral, frogspawn and some zoas are not fully open. Everything else seems fine. Made no changes to the tank so it has to be the peroxide.

I have a few thoughts or questions. First, would adding the 3% Hydrogen peroxide to some of the tank water outside the tank and then adding this pre-mix to the high flow area reduce chances of accidentally harming shrimp or making corals close up? Would introducing it to several high flow areas even out the results (a few seemed to clear in spots)? Could the rise in cyanobacteria infestations partially be the result of dead rock or other reef-friendly live rock alternatives, especially if they are high is sulfur. Is the bad smell from dying cyanobacteria due to sulfur it took up? Does dead cyanobacteria get removed from the tank via the protein skimmer. Are there methods to help reduce hydrogen sulfide from tanks as well? And one last note. It would seem like a "1 ml (3%) H2O2/10 gallons" reference to dosing might reduce the possibility of someone using higher concentration levels because they didn't read the entire thread. It seems like a few people had this problem. It would also appear that H2O2 in a quarantine tank for new corals could also help prevent cyanobacteria introduction, or do other methods stop it?
Lastly, thank you for this thread and the inputs that everyone made.

Cyano still has not returned dinos are starting to die back again and all the livestock is looking really good.

I have a problem with cyanobacteria in a 10 gallon brackish tank. About a week ago I added a nano sized Oxydator. The cyanobacteria is growing up the sides of the ceramic base. What's up with that?

These are the exact same questions that will be answered in my final.
I know a lot of people are trying this on their own and may be skimming through all these pages not fully understanding WHAT cyanobacteria is, how it functions and how it survives.
Also as noted in my earlier post some people think it's cyanobacteria when it's actually not. They try h2o2 only to see no change and then saying peroxide doesn't work.

Have I tested any samples from you?
There should be no adverse reactions from the coral.
 
No you have tested any samples. They are looking better today.
OK as long as they are looking better. I am finding a species of dinoflagellates that look the same as cyanobacteria (and form the same)

Interesting. Do you have an idea how many days in before I start to see a result from dosing? Lights aren't on full yet and there are already areas with cyno.

If you don't start to see drastic improvement by day 7 we need to talk ;)

This is my substrate **in the afternoon!!!!**. Dosing 2x a day works. This was 5 days, I believe.

Today I did a complete teardown and substrate swap (I am tired!). I dosed peroxide after I filled it back up. I know I still have some cyano on my live rocks, so I am hoping with the removal of all that detritus and keeping peroxide dosing up, I can give a final knockout blow.

Is everyone just using the regular store bought brown bottle peroxide? I think I read this way back in the thread but can't find it and the thread grew too big. Sorry for the repeat question. I know food grade would be ideal but it is harder to come by and expensive and was just wondering if anyone has had negative affects from regular brown bottle
