Back at it! Peroxide vrs cyanobacteria

Never heard that distinction, gold finding nice one!
Yes this finding will help a lot of people frustrated that it won't go away.
I am trying to culture this also but is posing to be a challenge.
Day 5 and no change cyno mat is becoming thicker.

It may not be cyanobacteria
 
Doubt its just cyano. I got the same thing going on, except no mats. Just on rocks,zoas, and clams.
Mine is just on the sand, it's red, looks like a mat, and goes away when lights dim/shut off. I'll take a pic Tom of it close up.
 
I probably have same. I feed the spirulina brine shrimp. My sand bed cleaned up good but red mats covering rocks not cleaning up much if any.
This crap didnt start in my 75g tank until i used Fuel. I only feed larrys. This tank has been running a year and a half with no issues. My 90g has been running 4yrs and is algae free. Im glad i decided to only test "fuel" on one tank.

I have the same thing. I posted pics yesterday of what you are describing. Post # 612. Twilliard answered my same question.
 
OK guys here is what I found after a quick 12 hour test. This is from @joshkirkland83 tank.
In my h2o2 test spirulina still lives happy and well with severe cyanobacteria cell reduction.

In my chemiclean test spirulina in the slide sample is 100% gone with cyanobacteria still having strong cell structure.

I do not support the use of chemiclean, this is just an observation

I have now! Quite a read! It looks like small size and soft walls are vulnerable. Also, the application of UV radiation showed enhancing value to the efficacy of H2O2. That made me wonder if circulating our H2O2 "enriched" tank water through some level of UV exposure would make a beneficial contribution to the annihilation factor are looking for here. My take on this was that the UV was not for germicidal purposes but for chemical interaction with the H2O2 soup.

At any rate the article sure does support twillar's findings to date, both positive and negative.

I would have thought the same but I am having a little bit of trouble finding the genome structure literature
