Well, before moving I had to give up 3 of my reef tanks. Due to the distance I had to go from. Well I should have just took the risk and took them with me. After discussing the options that were in front of me I decided to GIVE my setups to a family member. Figuring that they always talked about how nice it would be to give it a go, and thinking that they would love the hobby as much as my family and I do. Well, within 3 months, crash! All of the corals, fish, pumps, skimmer, ect were either ruined or dead.
Enough of the horror stories! I have recently bought a 56 column and a 10 gal qt tank. I know that I have to get a lot more stuff (again). But it's a start. Here is what I have so far.

Awesome cant wait to see more of this build. What kind of leds ya got on there?

It is just a Aqueon 30" led fixture. Just wanted something to light the tank for now until I get the time where i can build a DIY led fixture from rapid led.

Oh that is enough to make you ill, I'm so sorry to hear that on your earlier tanks, but glad to see you didn't get discouraged to the point of not trying again, good lick with your new tanks, I'm sure they will be AWSOME

Thanks. I was kinda down about it for a while. The reason they crashed was in the 3 months that the family member had them no water changes were done, no tests, and waaaaaay over feeding. Is what it is now. My family and I love the hobby too much to give up on it.

That's cool, I've just started this year and already I'm addicted, can't wait to see the progress of my tanks in a year from now

It only gets worse. In the addictive aspect. If you have the motivation and patience the tank will thrive. Remember, it's a marathon and not a sprint in this hobby.

Well, another week down. I decided that I wanted to keep chaeto in my tank, but unlike before I did not want it taking over the tank. I do not have a sump, but will do one very soon. This is what I came up with to solve the problem. Using a specimen container some egg crate, zip ties, and a 1/4" drill bit this is what I got. I will be hanging it on the back.

Cuc came from reef cleaners today. Holy crap, they gave more than what was ordered. Not complaining though.

Good to hear that you're getting right back in it. The sump is what I was going to recommend, to keep all the equipment underneath for more aesthetically pleasing look in the display tank. Just from the pics alone, it looks so much better than when you initially set this tank up. Great job!!

Thank you. I want to do a sump, but the wife wants to hold off on that for the moment. Believe me, it has crossed my mind many of time. She is going out of town on Labor Day, so she my come home to a surprise. Haha!
