Hello! Has anyone attempted to create a sort of mini fuge in the back chambers of a Fluval EVO? I have the EVO V and have thought about the possibility of placing some macroalgae on the top of my intank media basket, with filter floss below it, then my bio/chemical media below that, etc.

Anyone try such a thing?

i haven’t done one in that tank, but basically any space you can hold your algae in and put a light on it can be a fuge so go for it.

Did you end up giving this a try?

I did! I just got some sea lettuce a few days ago and have placed that in the top section of my intank basket, with filter floss in the middle and my chemipure, etc. At the bottom. It gets hit pretty decent by the normal lights, but I also got a small clamp grow light in the mail today I am going to plug in as well and angle to that spot. We will see how it goes!

How did it go?
