Back from holiday, what’s this?

I just got back from a 5 day holiday and all corals look good, my Clowns look great and so does my goby but
My fire shrimp has disappeared
My anemone has dissapeared (or I just can’t see it)
This wierd brown wirey algae has appeared
My sandbed has what I think is red slime algae on it
Lots of algae the one on the filter in pic covering rocks and filter
can anyone give me any advice ?

Please post pics under white lights
Bottom pic is cyano bacteria and plant matter may be bryopsis algae
Need better pics to confirm and can then give you a gameplan to rid of both
You can reduce white intensity for starters

My experience was actually different with white light though. I find my algae growth is actually slowed in white light and it is rapid in blues. I wonder if that’s due to my coral growth being faster in whites and high alk though.

I can also see what appears to be some dinos or diatoms within the cyano as well. As for the algae I can’t tell you fully however I’d say bryopsis with some GHA growing in too.

Is the algae fern shaped? If so, it is likely bryopsis. I’ve only had luck killing it with reef flux. The red slime is cyano bacteria.

looks like bryopsis, and pulling up "by the roots" is required

If you can get the rock out to clean I up that will be better still

I’d vote bryopsis , I think you just need to increase your clean up crew members , would like to see more snails / hermits

Yeah, I only have 5 nassarius atm(+ baby snails) but I’m going to get some Nerite snails and hermits tomorrow
How many would you recommend?

I think 10 various snails and 10 hermit crabs is a good number , nassarius snails do not eat algae mostly eat leftover foods / meaty things

No, but i keep plastic tongs as an aid, and it rarely happens - worth the trade off of being algae chomping machines

+1 to this, however on the sandbed it does look to be Dinos or Diatoms mixing with Cyano.
That’s just what I see from what I’ve seen in my nano when I had that ridiculous outbreak.

Gobies and blennies can live in harmony together. They aren’t that aggressive with eachother, I have 6 gobies and one blenny coexisting in a RS max nano.
