Back from the dead, 40 gallon beeeder build

Well I kinda hope they're overkill! Flow has always been on teh weak side for me. I would rather turn down and as the tank matures be able to adjust.
I think even at the lowest setting you will be splashing water on the floor with 2 pp-8's. Give it a shot though....

I have 2 pp8 in my 37 bowfront I love them. I have them set at about 40% and they don't blow the sand too much. I had 2 pp4 first but they left a lot of deadspots in the tank. The pp8 will give a wider spread flow and should give you all the flow you'll ever need. Initially the pp8 seemed over powered but it settled in and seemed to lose a little flow after a few weeks so I bumped it up a notch and it was perfect.

Here's the finished stand. Tank drilling and sump building next

Ok small update. Sump is built. I originally wanted to use a 20 long but I didn't pay close attention to inside dimensions when I built the stand. So, I decided to go with 2 10 gallon tanks. One will be the sump. Skimmer, return pump,LR rumble. The other will be for frags. The drain will split to both tanks. The frag tank will be higher than the sump tank. I'll drill the frag tank and let gravity do its job. Here's a pic showing tanks in place. Thoughts?
