Bought a frag pack of some super sweet sticks from a fellow reefer on here. I'm very excited to be back in the stick game after a couple years of decline and not having anything to show due to AEFW.

I've downsized my plans to a 60g cube, but am really enjoying it.

Here's a shot of my old 120g near the peak - I was running T5s on it. All sticks were grown from 1-2" frags over a few years.

Here's a pic of the 60g cube as it was a few weeks ago. I'm going to redo some rocks and add some more shelf rock once I have the time.

I'm running a G2 Radion, two MP10wES, a reef octopus skimmer, and an apex to drive it all. I will probably put my calcium reactor back online around September or October.

The game plan is to dip all frags in Bayer as a precaution for four to five weeks. A ratio of 10ml in 1/2 cup of tank water for 10 minutes every four to five days. I don't plan to add much more to the tank, so I will be QTing in the tank. If I do add more in the future, I will set up a QT tank and run it separate. Since I only have one acro currently, I will just dip it along with the new ones to be safe.

The pack arrives next Wednesday. I will get some pics up when they settle in a bit.

As someone who has made the comeback from AEFW...I know how difficult it is!!!

Glad you could at least salvage some. I was unable to, and ended up shutting the tank down. The plan was to set up a new tank, but I just don't have the time to do it. So I bought the 60g to hold me over and I have ended up really enjoying it for the last couple months. So I'm selling my 120 and equipment so I can move this tank into the living room (currently in our spare bedroom).

I bought a 30 gal frag tank and moved all acros to it. Then treated the frag tank water and religiously dipped the coral. I also removed all LR from my main tank and replaced with Real Reef rock. It was a 5 month process but I prevailed.

The colonies I had were way too encrusted and I didn't have the room for a tank that would hold them.

But I'm excited to finally have some sticks again.

Here's a list of what I'm getting:
RMF Jared’s Rainbow Mille
RMF Jared’s Tricolor
Ice Echinata
Rainbow Nasuta
Shades of Fall
Bubblegum Mille
Pink Tip Sarmentosa
Red Dragon
Exquisitor Acro
Pink Lemonade
Pink Orchid Acro
Strawberry shortcake
Raspberry Nasuta
Rommel’s Watermelon
Deep Blue Tort
Plus a few freebies

As a tip, I always flue my frags to a fist sized rock. Then I adhere the rock to my aquascape. That way they can encrust but I am still able to remove them if I need to.

Welcome Back!

I would suggest only dipping every 7 days at that strength of dosage to keep the corals from being stressed too much.

I beat AEFW with Bayer doing 5ml per cup of saltwater every 7 days for 8 weeks.

Thanks Chris. I had good success with the dosage listed in my initial tests with nearly every level of coral. From tri color to red planet to Hawkins. None stressed at all and all retained their polyp extension. If they start to lose color, I may give them an extra day, though. But I think they will do well. All are captive grown frags at least a couple generations I think.

Right on man. I dont think the amount of ml and time is stressful. More so the dipping process. Removing them, touching them, rinsing them etc.

I will pull a frag rack out, put them in a gallon of water in a tray, let them soak, and then stick the whole rack back in the tank after rinsing. Just to minimize the handling - I agree that can stress them out quite a bit.
