Back in the game, just got my first 2 fish

Hey guys,

I'm new (again) to the hobby, and I just got my fluval evo 13.5 cycled and have the first 2 fish in it.

Going to be a reef tank, eventually.

Here's my 2 baby clownfish. Open to name suggestions

I have a toddler, and she loves rugrats. So I suggested Phil and lil.

That only name I'm against is Nemo. Too cliche for me. But if course that's what my daughter suggested.

Something to be said for involving the kids in the hobby for sure. I am with you on Nemo, that would be a no for me too. I named my clowns Daisy Duke and Boss Hog. I guess only those of a certain age will get the reference, but I like names from tv or movies. Maybe you can convince your daughter that they are definitely Phil and Lil. I like the rhyme.

My 2 clownfish got named by my daughter and is marlin and coral ( nemo"s mum and dad's name lol)

I always name my pets after other animals, weird habit of mine
My old snowflake pair was called Orca and Penguin.

suggesting: Nemo 1 and Nemo 2 (variation of Thing 1 and Thing 2).

suggesting you have adult nicknames when your daughter isn't around: cat and dog
... what did you expect - its a family friendly hobby (giggle)
