Just wanted to say hi. Working on getting a new 75g setup in the next 6 weeks or so.
Going with a 40 breeder sump all in a built-in cabinet in my home office.

It has been very slowly progressing as I'm slowly getting funds together...

Been reading up on here for almost 3 months....

So much has changed, it's like starting completely new. Nothing from the old tank applies anymore.

Excited to say the least!

There are lots of things that changed over 20 years for sure. But be careful, not all of the new stuff is good. A good RO unit, 10% weekly water changes, good in tank flow, and good lighting is all you’ll need for a while. Be very careful about all of the dosing and nutrient removal techniques. Go slow. Good luck!

Welcome home, you will love it here!

Keep us posted with the build with lots of photos! :)

Welcome back!!!

and yes leds can grow sps as fine as any T5 or Metal Halide lol... that’s the only thing I can say that had me so confused when I came back also nitrates and phosphate are not as bad as we thought I took a break from 1999 until about 3 years ago.

A couple of things I'd say to a long returning hobbiests:
Dont use fish to cycle your tank. That was an old practice
Get a nice skimmer
Quaranteening fish for 6/8 weeks is a necessary procedure to acheive success.
