Has anyone backlit their aquarium? I am planning under cabinet lighting and just thought about how else LED strips could be implemented around the tank. I am not sure if it is a good idea may be tacky not sure but I feel like it could also be really cool. I am sure I am not the first person to think of this so has anyone done this or have thoughts?

I've even seen people do thin, 3D rock displays with cutouts and leds. They make the tank look bigger. Not sure just backlit by leds will do much more than just look different.

When would you have them on?

I have a Philips Hue light strip behind my tank and have it programmed to slowly change colors throughout the day. I really like it.

Could potentially make the entire tank "pop" more or just certain corals within. Or make the tank seem like its extending beyond the aquarium walls. People use them for TVs, I imagine it would have a similar effect for aquariums.
