So, I am up and running after having some set backs. Happy to report, this forum gave me the courage to not give up - so thank you. SO here's a question...I regularly scrape the front and sides of my tank but have never scraped the back (I painted the back black). Should I be scrapping the back....looking at lots of pictures/videos on here it seems the back wall is a good place for growth to provide things to pick at for the fish. BTW, this is a FOWLR tank.

Thanks!

Me too! lol
I only clean the front and sides . My snails eat the algae in the back so I let it do it’s thing . I see trails of eaten algae . If it gets bad tho I would scrap and remove as much as I can easily can.

Thanks!

I let coralline and stuff grow on the overflow partition that is in the middle of the tank. I scrape it off the back glass on either side. No real reason for that practice. I just like the way the black background accentuates the color of the corals & fish. I'd scrape it off the overflow also, but it is a textured plastic that doesn't scrape easily.

If I already had a lot of coralline on the back glass, I'd probably leave it though.
