I brought my old Korallin 1502 reactor back online last Saturday and my alk has risen steadily from 6.5 to 11.x and climbing at present. Safe to say I should back off before it goes any further?

Without other parameters or goals, I'm going to hazard a guess of Yes for backing off the old Korallin 1502.

Does it still have the original eheim 1048 pump?

Yup. Still running the original Eheim.

Tank is 3 months, been struggling with chronically low alk until last week. Rising steadily over the week but I think it's time to level off. Other parameters are CA 500, MG 1500, so all pretty much normal there, pH chronically low at about 7.9 depending on the time of day.

What in the tank is consuming the alk? If it's new rock that has been reported to take a while to stabilize alk with dry rock set ups.

I’d turn it off and see if there is much alk decline since you do not have many users yet.
