Has anyone done back-to-back fluconazole treatment for bryopsis? I did a dose a few months ago which wiped out all my bryopsis but it did slowly come back recently. I just dosed again and it is following the same course of dying off over the 7-10 days like before and I'm considering doing a 50% water change and a second dose at 14 days.

Yes , several folks did di back to back treatments in the giant fluconazole thread with success.
Esp w gha.

IMO , you make even want to do the booster dose before the wc. It's safe to do , as the disks you are using now is likely still well under a dose that would be used to treat fish.

I'll probably check phosphates before I decided on the water change. I've been holding 8ppm NO3 with NO3PO4-x even after the die off of bryopsis, though it really wasn't very much.

Wise move.
I was just so tired of it I just dropped the nuke and dealt with it later.

I just don't want to tick any SPS off with crazy spikes in things, though I have spiked posphates to 0.15 from 0.00 in the past with no obivious visual issues while dosing them during carbon dosing.

I don't even understand is that's possible.

By dosing phosphate too fast, or by killing off large amounts of phosphate containing organisms (ie algae).
Ah w dosing yea. Never seen it w algaes die off really here. It would have to stay and rot in the tank.

When I did the fluc. I scrubbed that stuff. Before during and after.

The biggest spike I've ever seen was using dino x on a previous tank for dinos. That stuff is basically chemo... my urchin had dropped a good 25% of its spines between the time that I dosed it at night and woke up the next morning.

I did see a decent bump after dosing fluconazole last time. Maybe from 0.01 to 0.08 IIRC.

Ewww yuck. I've always avoided chemo. Dang.

And dang, I could never own a test that accurate , it would drive me nuts. And I'd prob break it with the first test. Lol.

I did have a convo with the don't scrub fluc folks.

I scrubbed ,wc, dosed and it died faster then the stuff that I didn't scrub. Less stuff to rot in the tank.

I used Fluconazole for some sort of turf algae. Never did kill it all with multiple treatments with the last one being near 3x the amount you're supposed to dose per gallon. lol

I think is was 30- 200mg pills for 70 total gallons. rofl

Yea, sadly it's the main ingredient in some "algae busters".

I still haven't done a water change since dosing Fluco in my tank. it's been a couple of months since the initial dose, and no bryopsis [or any other algae - though maybe a coincidence]
