I'm definitely set up the refugium as fast as possible and ran chaetomorpha , or algae scrubber whould be even a better option

Due to limit of space in sump I don't have a spot for refugium. Sump is 20x18x12 so just have space for skimmer and return. And I've already gone through with the ammonia spike so don't need aftermarket shrimp thrown in.

Try algae scrubber, plenty of space, eventually u will realize no need for skimmer

Wow what a tank!!! Looks amazing. Do you do any dosing? Because I notice you have some chalice and that need a stable water parameters. And how often you do water change?

That actually what is great about the scrubber, that if grow the turf algae you can skip on water changes, longest was 6 months, I am sure you can get away with years, but I frug leathers here and there, so when not lezy, the usual 20% every 2 weeks, dosing kalkwasser from brs

I’d personally just recycle the rock you have. But that’s just me
