Howdy yall, just about to setup Coralife 32. salt water

main question is ..If im going with Fuge/Cheato in chamber 2 with light...and live rock in display, can i sip the Protein skimmer?

Welcome to R2R.

yes, but keep the option to add one in your plans. If you end up struggling to keep NO3 and PO4 in your target range and need to lower it, a protein skimmer may be a good addition. It removes organics before they break down into NO3 and PO4. And when carbon dosing, the microbes on which the carbon feeds(and thus multiplies) is efficient at assimilating the tank nutrients into their body mass which also gets removed from by protein skimming.

Hi everyone. I started a new 60 gallon tank in January. I constantly have nitrate issues (over 90), and even with water changes they don't go down. I am now assuming my protein skimmer might me the issue. I have a coralife 125 protein skimmer, and since january it has never even came up an inch. The coralife skimmer only has one water intake knob, and I don;t know how to set ip properly. Does anyone have any tips as to what im doing wrong?
