Hey! I'm thinking of adding a background to my tank. I'd like to do a solid colour, but would love some advice! My tanks 30cm (11.8in) deep and 60cm (23.6in) wide.

I simply used black spray paint. It's rather moot considering within a year or so it will be covered with coralline.

I see your tank is already set up. The other option, and I used to do with freshwater tanks I had that were already set up, was to use poster board for signs. This stuff looked like corrugated cardboard except it's made of plastic. I'd cut it to size and paint whatever color I wanted.

I've always painted the backs of my tanks blue. Krylon fusion paint works best but hard to find these days, so I've been using rustoleum the past couple of tanks.

Personally I recommend it, especially for hang-on back tanks, you will be so happy to not see those wires in the background anymore, wires really detract from the beauty of the tank IMO

Thank you all! I'm pretty sure im going to use vinyl, as I like to change my tank up. Its more the colour Im wondering about. I cant decide between blue or black (or mabye something else?) but I'm not sure. Its pretty shallow width wise and I dont want anything too overpowering.
