Good afternoon,

I am going through a bacteria bloom and my zoas are not opening. Is this normal? My ammonia and nitrites are zero, and my nitrate is 20-40ppm.

Do a water change, it’ll help. You’ll need to get your nitrates around 10 or lower.

run skimmer til it clears up the fogginess of the bloom..stop dosing any Nopox/vodka/vinegar..
No3 of 40 is not bad but still borderline of taking action to lower but can be easily done..
I dose No3 to high 20s to low 30s purposely and my zoas/palys like it..
dont know what other type of corals you have and other water params your tank are too..
A picture of your tank would be worth a thousand words

To add to the above post., If you have a UV run it. If you have a carbon reactor, change the carbon.
