Bacteria bloom from Biopellets, filter sock?

Started biopellets friday and started getting cloudy water sunday. I hear it takes 3 to 5 days and it goes away. Wondering if I should take my filter sock out or leave it in.

Use the sock it will help clean up the bacteria slime but you may have to change or clean it very often.. sometimes every few hours.

Im thinking either way, I believe lack of oxygen is your biggest issue with a bloom. Hopefully you'll get some more thoughts now.

Aqua the bloom showed up the next day after I moved a powerhead from the top of the tank to the bottom.

Are you sure your not just stiring up stuff in the sand? Are you getting any slime on the rocks or anything like that?

How many pellets did you start with?

Typed from my phone, because I have nothing better to do.

If you start off too heavy on the biopellets this can happen. Remove some of the pellets and it should clear right up.

I did start heavy. I went right under the recommended dosage. Im also dosing with microbacter7. I also took my Mp10 off reef crest and put it on short pulse to get a wave going last night. I checked the tank this morning and it looks light its starting to clear up.
