you need to look for a source. A dead thing, hand sanitizers, aerosol air fresheners, etc. Most use UV, Ive heard of success with aggressive carbon as well.

So if I bought a UV Sterilizer it would help
yes. But a bloom that large is caused by something. imo , if you treat and don't find the cause, it may mask the problem but not eliminate it or work at all.

I think I discovered the issue. I bought a bottle of calcium at petco [emoji35]. But either wasn't that or something else. It smelled like a magic marker. Calcium shouldn't smell.

So I'm thinking if I get a UV it would help ????

I personally wouldn't rush into a UV sterilizer. Since you think it's from the Petco CA, have you done a WC? Bacteria blooms will usually disappear within a few days.

I doubt if it's a bacteria bloom then. Again, WC. If still cloudy after 24 hrs, then it's something else. Just don't add anything except SW until the 24hrs has passed.

It's always a good idea to check water parameters whenever something arises in the tank. I have not seen a bacteria bloom last for more than a few days. Water cloudiness can be caused by a lot of things and a series of steps should be taken to begin ruling things out/identifying the cause. CA precipitation can be a cause as well as other things.
