So, I moved into my new home, and shut down my Reefer 250 and upgraded to a 525xl. Woke up this morning to what appears to be a bacterial bloom, nothing I haven't ever dealt with before, having three tanks at one point. My main question is I have never done a large tank upgrade and move like this. I am dosing Dr.Tims Waste away (not sure if thats the culprit or not). Should I just wait it out? Throw in a UV Sterilizer which I'm assuming will kill all of the waste away bacteria?

Pictures would help. Did you move the old sand? Has anything died. First thing I would do it increase oxygen in the tank from outside air.

I cleaned all the old sand, Very well. Nothing has died. It's just a milky cloudiness, like a normal bacterial bloom.

Pictures would tell a thousand words. Are the corals looking good are fish swimming at the top gasping for air? If it’s really bad a water change might be needed if not so bad let it ride.

I can get some tonight. Everyone seemed fine this morning, I will throw a stone in and see how they are when I get back from work.

Dr Tim's waste away can cause a bloom. Turn on skimmer. The bloom could cause depleted oxygen. The skimmer will pull out the bacteria and oxygenate the water. Will pass in a few days.
