Bacteria Bloom for a week now. Did a water change cant say it's helped. Ammonia,nitrates,nitrites at 0. Ph 8.2ish. Lights on 50% for 8 hours. Ramp up/down to 0. Cut down on feeding to every other day
Should I do water changes wait it out? Clean the glass or not clean the glass?

Just make sure to apply extra surface agitation and not a big deal. Looks like part of the maturing process.

Agreed!!! That bloom seems pretty tame. I've seen a lot worse.

Your system is new and will likely develop other life forms down the road that you won’t like either, but please, don’t take it on the fish.

a possible: benthic attachments on glass cause false hazing of water


scoop up tank water in clear glass cup and take cross section pic in dark with light shined on the cup

if lots in the water, run carbon do water changes and make sure you’re not over feeding or messing with carbon dosing

make the tank clean by hand cleaning it

if the water is clear in the test cup just change water, wipe off all surfaces while the tank is drained don’t try and clean the stuff indirectly via dosers etc. Keeping water clean and tank clean by hand keeps fish happy, till you figure out cause. You clean more till then, never allowing the invaded condition. Forced tank compliance until luck or skill fixes it for you


the lighting is way too bright that’s a huge issue. No need for full power it’s growing and selecting for non coral life vs corals. Algae coming up as generations alternate

Way lower light.
