Bacteria Dosing

Can anyone share with me your experiences on bacteria dosing? Currently I'm only dosing probodio every other week, but it seems to not be giving me any results.

Is there another way I can improve on to get better results? I'm just trying to lower my nitrates and improve the health of my fish.

Do you have any pictures of your tank and also what methods if any do you have in place to help build/retain biological filtration and bacteria such as rockwork etc ?
