So I've had this dottyback for a month. I come home after being away for a week and he is like this. I have pukani rock in tank and thought maybe he was rubbing the rock coming in and out but now I thinknits an infection. Dosent look like ich, but has a what looks like a bruise. I dunno, also battling pineapple sponge explosion. And 2 apiastasias. 2nd pic is the sponge outbreak. Should I worry about the other fish? Is there some additive I can use

You can safely ignore the pineapple sponges and the aiptasia, neither will cause any issue to your fish. In fact, pineapple sponges are a good thing in a reef tank.

Could be:

Uronema
OR
Bacterial infection

Go pay the humblefish forums a visit.

May be a bacterial infection from rubbing the rocks, heater burn, banging into rocks when startled.

To treat both internal and external infection, treating with both metro + kanamycin aka kanaplex would be advised. Can add Furan2 to have an even greater spectrum of antibiotics. Treat for 10-14 days in a QT. Or treat with Ciprofloxacin in a bath for 60 minutes. Baths often have a quicker and sometimes more effective success rate.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, to late. R.I.P. Barney. Good to know, I will get some to have on hand. It seemed to get worse and he like chilling in the rock

Sorry for your loss. :(

Building a small med kit to have on hand is a good move. Especially these days when delivery is pretty slow.
