All of a sudden I have little blobs of slime that are leaving long slime-like filaments. Most of it on rock and in the upper third of the tank and some stuck to my zoas. I'm assuming this is bacterial, but what would be causing it? This 90 gallon tank is about 6 months now and is definitely in the 'uglies'. It was bottomed out on nutrients and I was trying to bring them back up with extra feeding (I only have 2 clowns in addition to a variety of soft corals). I started using ReefRoids to direct feed some of the corals and pretty quickly P04 came up. Right now I'm at the following using API Master Kit (I have Salifert tests ordered and on the way): P - 0.5-1, Nitrate 10, Ca: 420, pH: 8, Salinity: 1.025.

Any thoughts? Things looked great yesterday. :-(

If it's showing up that fast it's either dinoflagellates or cyanobacteria (my guess would be Lungbyia) I wouldn't use any kind of chemical treatment, just manual removal by siphoning it out with water changes using steel straws.
