For what it's worth, I use Probidio BioDigest for a boost in bacteria strains. It seems (no actual measurements to prove/disprove) to help reduce diatoms in my tank. I tend to easily get diatoms so I like it for that reason.
Oh yea I did. after the third time I bought it my wife gave me look and said, " you know you dont like that stuff right?
FWIW a weekly isnt really needed, but a lot like the MB7 by brightwell. I keep prime and stability for just in case. I use waste away from time to time. And Ive used Probidio as well.

I haven't added a bacteria in a bottle to my tanks since....well never. Most are not even bacteria you would find in a ocean and some are used for septic tanks. I use my live rock since I know it comes from the ocean and since bacteria was here before us and probably after us it's pretty good at its job and will adjust on its own as its needed and I've put it to the test more than once. I fully stocked a 75 gallon tank that had over 200 lbs of rock that had been empty of fish or coral for over 2 years all I did was a 50% water change then popped in 9 fish 2 shrimps and 20 hermits and never got a trace of ammonia heck I was even surprised. That was years ago and still have every fish but one who jumped.
