FWIW I use a couple different products, mostly when I do water changes. One is called Special Blend. The other is Dr. Tim’s Eco Balance. Much smarter people than me on this forum but all i can say is I’ve never had algae issues, everything in tank doing really well. Heavy feed, 10 fish in a stacked 50 gallon nano.
There are a lot of snake oil additives out there and I’m pretty selective about what goes into the water. But for me, dosing these bacteria products has worked well for me. I also use them on a 20 Gallon nano and my freshwater tank.

I’ve noticed growth in pieces that never budgeted since i started a bi-weekly dosage of biodigest. My tank is 14 months old and started from dry rock. I’ve been dosing for 3-4 months now. Will I do it forever? Not sure yet, but it’s pretty low cost to not consider it.
