Bacterial bloom on new tank nearing its end

So I had setup a tank using biospira and live rock added a few fish all levels looked good. Things quickly turned bad though as I added prime which supposedly blocks the biospira from doing its job. A giant bacterial bloom ensued and Iost the starter fish all within days. Tanks been empty for a week just running powerheads and inverts somehow they survived. By morning or Tuesday morning I should be back to crystal clear I'm guessing the tank should be able to handle fish now right?

Bio Spira looks like it cycles the tank immediately, ready for fish, but in view of what’s happened you need to test the water for ammonia etc to see if it’s safe for the fish.

If the prime has stopped it working then, it’s probably not safe as the relevant bacteria may have been killed off. I don’t know if prime does this or not.

Or depending on the size/age of the tank, maybe empty it and start again, but follow the instructions to the letter if your using bacteria in a bottle. They work but only if done correctly

Whatever you do, don’t add any more livestock until you know the water is safe, and the tank cycled. You might find these useful as well.
