So tanks 6-7 weeks old I cycled with biospira. I haven’t been able to see into my tank for several weeks now. Water tests all looked normal no ammonia or nitrite anymore an 40ppm nitrate. I tried a 10% water change no difference really. Today I added filter floss and it toke away maybe half of the cloudiness and the floss is brown within hours. It’s still terribly cloudy but if it was really a bloom the filter floss shouldn’t be helping right ? I was going to run some clarity tonight and see if I can get the rest out of the tank. It was 100% clear when I started and I can’t think of anything else to do to get rid of the cloud in my tank

microscope would be a sure way to test.

dose 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per gallon should clear it up as well if it's bacterial, but it will probably come back.

a UV sterilizer has been what i found to be the best way to knock out a bacterial bloom that insists on sticking around, no matter what i try.

the tank is still young, so it should clear up over time.

do you have a skimmer? is it pulling out nasty stuff? bacterial blooms should create some seriously foul skimmate.

are you using 0 TDS RODI water for your top/off and salt mixing water?
