Bacterial bloom

Can be due to:
Carbon source
Over feeding
Poor filtration
Water source

Bacterial blooms are quite common especially in newly set up saltwater aquariums, or in those where overstocking or overfeeding has occurred. ... These bacteria can rapidly reproduce, so if there's too much organic debris in your tank, this may lead to a bacterial bloom.

It happens on newer tanks. The important thing is to make sure there is plenty of surface agitation so the oxygen levels in the tank don't drop too low. I had all of the fish in my tank die within a few hours once and I attribute it to low oxygen.

Thank you. For carbon I use chemi-pure blue. I’m actually over filtering. Water source has been from the tap but just switched over to RODI.

I’ve got two power heads and for agitation.

RODI will make a difference. Chemipure blue is excellent
