Bacterial Infection?

So i’ve had this goby for about 4 months and probably a month ago, he began to develop a white scrape. I had assumed it was just a scrape because i saw it shortly after I had been moving my rocks around to catch a six line. A month later and it seems to be healing but still a reddish sore. Assuming it’s a bacterial infection but I don’t have a QT right now. Any ideas what I could do?

Looks like an infection to me. Turn the blue off get pics under normal lighting.

Id lrobly get a qt and put him under some doxycycline or furan 2. Petco is selling tanks for 1$ a gallon

I have my QT setup, got seachem paraguard. Hopefully it works

Looks like a bad bacterial infection. I’d hit it with a strong combination like Kanaplex and Furan-2, but you can add Metroplex with it too for a triple cocktail.

I would only dose the recommended amount first and if you don’t see a change in 4-5 days...then you look into doing a double dose (research first). If any adverse reactions, immediately do a water change.

Thank you so much for the help! one more question! I haven’t started up my QT yet but I plan on starting it tomorrow. I have a bio sponge for air bubbles and PVC piping and a HOB filter. I got some bottled bacteria, should I pour it in and wait a day for it to colonize then put the goby in or just put the goby in immediately after? Any good WC schedule?

Metronidazole only works on anaerobic bacteria which are almost never responsible for infections in fish.

I would. Kanaplex is good in that it's active against Gram negative bacteria and absorbed from the water. The downside is that the kanamycin in it is dosed 17-34 times less than recommended in veterinary references (50-100 mg/L).

Yeah. Or if you have a fish vet nearby-ish get an injectable antibiotic. I've had that done in the past. Worked like a charm.
