I came home from work and noticed that my yellow Tang is getting bullied really bad by my purple. Both are "tiny" and they were put in the DT within hours of each other about 6 weeks ago.. They have been fine until now.. I tried to catch the purple and throw him into a separate area (sump or a 5 gallon hospital tank I have. But I can't catch either of them

What should I do?? My tank is 30 inches tall, so without taking apart my rock it's provint to be extremely difficult to net either.

What size tank?

I'm also going out of town this weekend and won't be able to monitor them really.. worried that I might come home Sunday and the yellow will be really injured.

Place a mirror at one end of the tank. Aggressor will stay occupied with its reflection. Might help.

This is why they say to add all your tangs at the same time. I know, not everyone does this, but personally I’ve never really had any problems doing tangs that way.

Breaks up aggressive behavior and territory issues.

Good luck and I hope they settle down for you.

Yeah I figured I had added them close enough together. :/ And it's weird that it's all of a sudden.. I ended up putting a mirror on each of the sides. And just leaving the front open.

We will see if it works. They both went behind the rocks as soon as I did.
